Our stay at Jawakara Nala was simply unforgettable. Everything was absolutely perfect from the moment we arrived until the day we left. Our villa was beautiful, spotless, and impeccably maintained every day. The island itself is breathtaking and truly feels like paradise. A very special mention goes to the buffet, which was absolutely outstanding. Every meal was delicious, with an incredible variety of dishes, fresh ingredients, and exceptional quality. The chefs are amazingly talented, and every member of the restaurant team made each dining experience enjoyable. A heartfelt thank you to Sumith, the restaurant supervisor, for his kindness, professionalism, and constant attention to every guest. We would also like to thank Chef Faruk, whose passion and talent were reflected in every meal he prepared. A very special thank you also goes to our personal host, Shihan. He was always available, incredibly helpful, professional, responsive, and friendly. He made our stay smooth, relaxing, and truly memorable. Finally, thank you to the entire Jawakara Nala team. Every single staff member was welcoming, kind, and dedicated to making our stay perfect. We highly recommend Jawakara Nala to anyone looking for a luxury holiday in the Maldives. Thank you for giving us memories that will last a lifetime. We can’t wait to comeback MOUNIA AND SOUKAINA
As we sit in the airport lounge reminiscing about our holiday, we write about our memorable experience. From the minute we set foot on Nala to the sad time we left, the team made us feel relaxed and welcome. As a new island, they are working well towards developing a dream island getaway. The Nala team were amazing and there are some that we particularly wanted to mention. Jamaan, our host was fun and engaging, he kept us on our toes and met all our needs. We had lots of giggles and was always at the end of a WhatsApp and the lovely handmade cricket left in our room at the end of the stay will travel with us. The rooms were great, we tried the over sea villa and the beach villa, so we had the best of both worlds. There was a difference in housekeeping between the two accommodations, and Maha in the oversea villa was fabulous, always smiling and his decorations the best, especially his towel turtles. Akil, who cleaned the pool in both villas, was so polite and again his smile was genuine. Well done Maha and Akil. We had some very relaxing trips to the spa and Sonya worked with him to find the areas needing attention and the strength of massages needed. Wow, is all I can say about the food and drinks. Everyone serving, cooking, cleaning and generally around these areas smiled and appeared happy in their work. Dinesh, Bhaggya and Ruchi in the bar made our evening sunsets a pleasure and helped us in trying new drinks. In the kitchen, Faruk and Madan made our buffet experience fun and engaging, helping us to choose some new and fabulous food. Sumith (Smithy) welcomed and invited us back to the restaurant each day and it always gave him pleasure when we took him up on the invitations. Being able to spend time and chat with the waiters helped us to get to know the island well and feel very relaxed, just small things like sharing their homes or careers helped make connections and engage in conversations. The a la carte restaurants were very special, we thought Kumo would win, but then we tried Milos and this was special. With the contagious smile of Maeen and John just adding to the whole experience. On the last day when Saiful made us a healthy cocktail, these were both tasty and welcome. An overall lasting memory of Nala will be the destination dining (Veli Dinner) and words cannot describe how this was an awesome experience, we will forever forget Leem holding an umbrella whilst we drank wine in a hole on the beach in the rain and giggling together. With the food being very particularly tasty, well-done Chef. This is a must experience for those seeking something different and romantic. One final thanks, goes to Hashi who made our wine tasting an experience, we will never forget the Argentinian wine served the day England lost! Some may say that there are not enough fish on the island, however we saw some, especially from the a la carte restaurants and the turtles from our villa made a lasting memory. However, do not fear, Nala have this covered too, they offered reef snorkel trips twice daily for those seeking a fishy adventure. There is some noise from the seaplanes that land on the nearby island, however these are entertaining to watch, there is only so much blue sky and sea you can enjoy! The island is a seaplane 35-minute direct trip away from Male, though if you have never experienced this, it is worth it, just for the thrill alone. We went Premium All Inclusive, which gave extra benefits and made the experience less to worry about then on the island.
I was lucky enough to be one of the first guests at Nala. I stayed two nights during its grand opening week in December 2025 and I only wish I could have stayed longer. The resort is phenomenal. Everything is amazing, from the food to the villas to the service. Could not have asked for a better way to end my trip to the Maldives. The lagoon around the overwater villas is simply stunning. We walked through it one morning to get to the restaurant for breakfast, which was a unique experience for me. We absolutely recommend Nala and I am honored to be the first one to review it on Google!
We stayed at the ocean-villa with pool and stairs directly to the crystal clear ocean where we sometimes saw stingrays in the evening. The villa was spacious and beautifully designed with natural wooden materials, creating an incredible and luxurious atmosphere. We enjoyed spending time at our spacious private outdoor terrace. We arrive to the island with the crew greeting us with music and refreshing juices, and you get shown around the beautiful island by your host for the trip. They will book everything for you, from yogaclasses to dining reservations. All of the staff were so welcoming expesially a thank you to Lalith and his wonderful staff, Shihan for being a great island host and making sure we could enjoy every second of our vacation, Piyumi for preparing our daily fruit plater with a smile, Sharada for her yoga classes, and Rojina for preparing our drinks for our daily sundowner, but we could keep going, they made a great impression and made our trip unforgettable. Every small details was carefully catered for, from the tray with juices and sunscreeners when you arrived by the pool, or the table with rackets, fresh water, and towels when you arrived to the tennis and padel courts to the incredibly lightning in the evening.
This place is truly nala – and “nala” means beautiful, good, pleasant, harmonious. That perfectly describes the entire experience here. The nature is nala, the room is nala, the food is excellent, and you can truly feel how much effort everyone puts in to make sure nothing is missing for the guests. A special compliment to the entire team, and especially to Sihan, who made us feel cared for and completely relaxed at all times. It’s rare to experience such attention to detail and genuine warmth in service. Nala. Nala. Nala. 🌿
