Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Having visited several other islands in the Maldives before, I can say with confidence that Vilamendhoo is truly exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we felt that this resort belongs in a league of its own. Hospitality at its finest The staff is the true heart of this island. Everyone from the chefs who prepared fantastic meals to the general team was extremely kind and professional. We want to give a special mention to our waiter Meezad. He was absolutely wonderful and made every meal a delight with his attentive service. Professionalism during global uncertainty What truly impressed us was how the resort handled the situation during the crisis in Iran. Their communication was fantastic. They provided constant updates and managed everything with such professionalism that we felt completely safe and informed. It was incredibly reassuring for us as a family to see them handle a difficult global situation so well. Excellence in every detail The house reef is simply stunning and easily one of the best we have ever experienced. Furthermore, the cleaning was top-notch. Our room was kept in pristine condition throughout our stay. The food was another highlight as every meal was fantastic with a great variety of flavors. In comparison to other islands we have visited, Vilamendhoo is a top-tier choice. We highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a perfect blend of natural beauty, amazing food, and a staff that truly cares about their guests.

Our stay at Vilamendhoo Island Resort & Spa was overall a beautiful and memorable experience. The marine life is truly breathtaking — swimming with whale sharks, turtles, manta rays, dolphins and vibrant marine life made this trip unforgettable. The food was excellent, and the chefs were consistently kind and welcoming. The team overall was attentive and professional, delivering a high level of service. However, a few issues did not meet expectations. Upon arrival, one of our suitcases was left unattended in the lounge among other guests. We also found a large piece of waste directly in front of our sea-view room, and our seaplane transfer was modified at the last minute without proper notice. After raising these concerns, the manager did not apologize and simply stated she would check with the teams, mentioning that such issues do not usually happen. The interaction felt dismissive and somewhat arrogant, and she appeared largely unconcerned — which contrasted strongly with the professionalism of the rest of the team. It was difficult to reconcile this attitude with the level of responsibility expected in such a property. We also felt a lack of warmth upon departure. While the setting is exceptional, the final impression did not fully reflect the level one would expect from such a property.

Fantastic 6-night stay: incredible house reef and great service We recently stayed for 6 nights at Vilamendhoo Island Resort, perfectly located on the south-eastern side of the Ari Atoll. The journey was straightforward: just a 30-minute seaplane flight from Male airport. Having a house reef where we could snorkel and dive straight from the beach was a massive benefit for us. We had a semi-detached jacuzzi villa in the adults-only section on the southern side of the island. At first, we were disappointed that it wasn’t a detached villa, and the hotel did offer us one on the north side. We decided to stay where we were as the position to the reef was ideal, and it turned out that our neighbours were very nice. It was a quiet spot on the beach with direct access to snorkelling on the house reef and just a few minutes walk to the restaurant. The villa was a good size with a private walled outside section at the back. We didn’t use the jacuzzi as we spent all of our time in the sea. The food was great. We did have to have a word with them about gluten and dairy-free requirements for my wife: there were very few options in the buffet. In the end, they made her food separately, which was really nice and much appreciated. On the whole, the service was excellent. The only rough spot was in the restaurant in the first couple of days: the waiter assigned to us was grumpy and kept forgetting our orders and preferences. We gave feedback to the hotel, and they quickly rectified it by assigning another gentleman to us (Samir). After that, the restaurant service was excellent. All other service was consistently great: from reception to the dive centre and housekeeping. We would definitely go back there again and stay in the same part of the island.

The island is nice and green, but there are few animals /a few bats, chickens, lizards, crabs/. There are no big fish around the island, a 1.5 meter reef shark was sometimes seen and 1-1 turtle. You had to look for the colorful corals, they are not pretty enough. The manta ray excursion is worthless, a big waste of money! There were 2 rays and 60 people above them, crap! The staff is nice. The food is delicious. The evening program is zero, there were many children, but there was no children's disco! The hydroplane came late, I almost missed the plane on the way home! The air conditioning in the room was not cleaned, we arrived home with a bad cold /it was not too cold, it was set to 28C!/ The cleaner did not fold any funny figures out of towels once, so he did not get a tip! 7 nights, for 3 people, full board, hydroplane, a lot for 4500€! It's not worth it!

We really enjoyed our time at this resort. I was impressed with the number of other guests who are repeat customers. To me this speaks well of the resort. The service, food, and rooms were excellent. We enjoyed the snorkeling on the reef around the resort.
